Zahedi Dates
Zahedi dates are a well-known variety cultivated mainly in the southern and southwestern regions of Iran. In some areas, this date is also referred to as Qasab.
They have a distinctive appearance, ranging in color from golden yellow to light brown. The fruit is relatively short and thick, with an elongated oval shape that becomes narrower and slightly pointed at the tip. Compared to many other varieties, Zahedi dates have a milder sweetness.
During different stages of ripening, the fruit changes color from yellow when unripe, to light brown in the moist stage, and finally to shades of reddish brown or pale yellow at full maturity.
Zahedi dates have a low moisture content, averaging around 14%, which contributes to their firm texture and longer shelf life.
